How Relieved works

About a minute of your time, then we do the ringing round. You hear back by email and nothing is charged until a dentist has confirmed a time.

How it works

From toothache to treated, in four steps

  1. Step 1: Tell us what's wrongin one quick tap

    1 minute

  2. Step 2: Share when you're freeand where you are

    1 minute

  3. Step 3: We find you a dentist whocan see you at that time

Confirmed by email, usually by 10am

  4. Step 4: You're seen, assessedand treated on the day

    Same visit where possible

1. Tell us what you need

Pick the problem, the times you could get to a practice over the next three days, and your postcode. If anything you tell us sounds like it needs A&E, we say so straight away and point you to 999 or 111.

You enter your name, mobile number and card details. We place a hold for the assessment fee. Nothing is taken yet.

2. We find your appointment

We contact every regulated practice within 20 miles that can take emergency patients, and ask who can see you in the windows you chose.

As soon as one confirms, we email you the practice name, address, time and who you're seeing.

3. You're charged only once it's confirmed

When a practice confirms, we take the £49. That covers the booking, the emergency assessment and an X‑ray if the dentist needs one.

If we can't find you an appointment in the times you chose, the hold is released and we email you to say so. Holds are never kept for more than seven days.

At the practice

The dentist examines you and tells you what's needed and what it costs before doing anything. Treatment is charged at Relieved's fixed price list, paid to the practice. Where it's clinically possible, it's done in the same visit.

Let's get you seen.

£49 for the assessment and an X‑ray if you need one. Nothing is charged until a dentist confirms your appointment.

Questions

The ones people ask before they book

Do I need to be registered with a dentist?
No. Most people who use us aren't registered anywhere. You don't join a practice, you just book an appointment.
What does the £49 cover?
The booking, the emergency assessment, and an X‑ray if the dentist needs one. It doesn't cover treatment.
What if I need treatment?
The dentist tells you what's needed and what it costs before doing anything. Treatment is charged at Relieved's fixed price list, the same one on our prices page. Where it's clinically possible, treatment is done in the same visit.
What if you can't find me an appointment?
You're not charged. We place a hold on your card and only take the £49 once a practice has confirmed a time you chose. If nothing is confirmed, the hold is released and we email you to say so.
Is this NHS?
No. These are private appointments at CQC-registered practices. If you're exempt from NHS dental charges, NHS treatment is free to you, and NHS 111 is the right first call.
Can I choose the practice?
We contact regulated practices within 20 miles of you and confirm the first one that can see you in the times you chose. We tell you which practice, the address and the time by email at the moment the £49 is charged.
Do you cover evenings and weekends?
You can request an appointment at any time. When you're seen depends on practice hours, and some practices open on Saturdays.
What if I can't make it?
Email us as soon as you know. With more than 48 hours' notice we move it free or refund you in full; within 48 hours the £49 is not refunded. Our cancellation terms are here.
